I just wanted to pass along some information on upcoming events that deal with disabilities.

  • The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia premiers Monday, October 29 on HBO.  You can check out the films synopsis at http://thebigpicturemovie.com/
  • Educators...Dream Weavers, OKCEC 48th Annual Conference will be held at the Moore Norman Technology Center on February 28 & March 1, 2013.

Oklahoma Transition Institute


The 7th Annual Oklahoma Transition Institute will be held  November 7 through November 9, 2012 at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center in Norman, OK.  Participants will learn about laws regarding transition, effective secondary transition practices, and how to develop a plan for improving transition programs.  Registration is free!!  Register today at http://zarrowcenter.ou.edu or call (405)325-8951.

2013 Oklahoma Youth Leadership Forum


The 2013 Oklahoma Youth Leadership Forum (YLF) for students with disabilities will be June 11-15, 2013.
YLF is a leadership development program for Oklahoma high school juniors and seniors with disabilities.  This is a week-long forum on a college campus focusing on leadership, assistive technology, independent living, higher education, career development options and the Oklahoma legislative process.
