The Ability Advisor is now a blog. The blog came about because there have been some changes at the Oklahoma Department of CareerTech. My name is Shelynn Kelly, and I am the new Disabilities Services Specialist. I will be answering your questions and providing you with resources and information for working with students with disabilities.
I would like to start off by telling everyone a little bit about myself. I have taught or worked with individuals with disabilities for the last 13 years. Out of those 13 years, 12 were spent in public education as a special education teacher. This will be my first year outside of the classroom in nine years. That being said, I understand the workload and challenges that teachers face on a daily basis. I hope that I can provide the type of information and services that will help you in educating your students, and in return help them find success.
